The current top post on the Bear Blog trending feed is one that initially seems harmless, but I suspect some readers aren't reading closely enough. I wish I knew anything about #gameDev
I want to explore an idea around non-violence as a means for conflict resolution. Most games default to violence as the default, and there is something there with subverting that expectation and turning it on its head.
I know Undertale has addressed this, and I am sure there are many others.
But even #incrementalGames like Node Buster have you upgrading weapons to be more efficient at killing shapes. Why? cause numbers go up.

You know, many of us have been complaining of late about all the useless generative "AI" features getting added to products. Then I read a story like this and realize it's just being crammed down our throats period. In the US, we won't be able to avoid it unless we stop them. The TESCREAL crew will make sure of that:

Inclusion matters, including in open source and open protocols. If an org platforms a transphobe or someone who otherwise threatens a vulnerable community, that should be reason enough to not engage. On top of being morally wrong and anti-social, it means they don't really care about the people who will ultimately use and see the benefit of what they make.

I helped build a government AI system. DOGE fired me, rolled the AI out to the whole agency, and implied the AI can do my job and the jobs of the others they've fired.
It can't. But, what DOGE accidentally revealed about themselves in the process is fascinating. 🧵

Honestly: From the 2013 failure of healthcare.gov to today, the government *almost* learned how to build software. We were close. Then a bunch of white men in suits swooped in to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Maybe they are just incompetent. But I think it's worse than that.
