When Banzan was walking through a market he overheard a conversation between a butcher and his customer.

“Give me the best piece of meat you have,” said the customer.

“Everything in my shop is the best,” replied the butcher. “You cannot find here any piece of meat that is not the best.”

At these words Banzan became enlightened.

This is an IR photo, made in afternoon light with a 1000nm filter and the Phase One Achromatic back. 1000nm is a fairly long IR wavelength, rendering a soft, surreal look. (IR photos are usually captured around 750-800nm). I used the Rodenstock 50mm HR-Digaron, which leaves the moon small in the frame but still recognizable.

This is (of course) a nod to Ansel Adams' "Moonrise, Hernandez, NM". But Adams' 1941 photo was made just after sunset, in the visible spectrum. See https://www.moma.org/collection/works/53904

In a cozy nook, a book opens wide,
Pages whisper stories, adventures unfold.
Sunlight dances softly on the floor,
While a gentle purr fills the air.

A cat, curled in a ball, dreams in the warmth,
Its tiny paws twitching in a world of its own.
With each turn of the page,
Imagination takes flight,
And the comfort of a friend lingers nearby.

@Remittancegirl a rainy day in western MA—maybe 40 people off route 2 on three sides of a major intersection (the fourth side is a steep drop-off into the CT River). Thank you for seeing us in the small towns. We DO know our neighbors, just like you said—but we also have folks who’ve been in this for years and will never stop fighting.

I cannot stress this enough tho - Elon Musk, as you understand him, simply does not exist without US govt subsidies and contracts. In 2012 that guy was worth 2.5B dollars; which is absolutely "rich" but not "I am going to buy the political process of multiple Pig Empire nations simultaneously" rich.

The guy doesn't "sell cars" or "invent shit" - he got rich by taking in government contracts, converting that guaranteed investment into excitement about his stocks, and shucking carbon credits.
