Here's "proof" that the 2024 election was hacked that is every bit as rigorous as some of the stuff I'm seeing:
- There are ~150 million people eligible to be US president. The odds that any one of them will be elected are therefore 1 in 150,000,000, roughly the same as winning the lottery.
- Donald Trump was elected not once but TWICE. The odds of that happening are less than 1 in 20 quadrillion!
- This also proves elections were hacked for Obama, Bush, Clinton, and Lincoln, among others.

In today's mastodon.social update, we're testing a few minor quality of life improvements to the web interface: Every list of accounts now has a shortcut to add or remove an account from lists; clicking a hashtag in a post now brings up a menu with a shortcut to browse posts in that hashtag specifically by the author, and a new featured tab on profiles to make featured hashtags and posts easier to find and navigate.

Pittsburgh's 42 story "Cathedral of Learning" houses offices and classrooms for the University of Pittsburgh. Completed in 1937, it took 11 years to construct. It remains the tallest academic building in the US.
The lobby is also gorgeous, and worth a visit.

I didn't grow up with Dunkin' and therefore have no residual nostalgic affection for them, so I can say with authority that their donuts are... fine. Not great, not terrible, just fine and not worth seeking out if a local donut shop is available. My residual nostalgic affection donut is Winchell's, which I can't now get anyway because I'm in Ohio.

@ivory Hi! A member of our instance is getting this message (on Ivory for Mac 2.3.3), but only when trying to post images > 100KB, and only on our instance (social.lol). They can post smaller images to social.lol, and larger images to any other instances. I can’t find anything in the server logs; any idea how we could get more info about what Ivory is seeing to throw this? Thanks!

We don't talk anywhere near enough about how the tech industry is fucking with the general public's understanding of consent.
Fairly often I will opt out of something that would have been obviously reasonable a few years ago, and people will look at me like I drove a truck through the room.
Things like:
- I won't be appearing on camera today
- I don't wish to speak on a recording to be published on the University website
- I won't be giving my personal details to an overseas third party just to use a notepad tool in one meetingI see this seeping through into attitudes about consent in other everyday life contexts. People are so used to being walked all over by their tech that they're increasingly shocked by boundaries.
