It's more difficult to keep up with people when your own things (and the world) are taking up so much more time, and everything feels like it's taking up more time these days. Everything wants attention now, and not always for good ends. My solution here is to be understanding when I drop off people's radars, and hope they are the same with me.

@ThisCJ because not everyone in the world is you, and different people have different circumstances. Some of those people may, for various reasons and having differing priorities, need to travel to the US, and might want to reduce their risk when doing so.

Personally, I would not be doing elective travel to the US right now if I were a non-US citizen if I could avoid it, but for those who need to, I'd definitely want to do it in a way that minimized the chance that I spent weeks in an immigration lockup if someone didn't like the way I looked.

We're starting hear more and more stories of visitors to the US being refused admission at land borders and airports and sent home after days or weeks in custody.

Have there been cases of this happening where US Customs operates at extraterritorial airports (e.g., many Canadian airports, etc)? I'm assuming not, since you'd have committed no crime in that country. If that's correct, such places might be a safer route into the US (not that we're a very good tourism destination right now).

The image is a humorous meme featuring a digitally illustrated Tyrannosaurus rex standing in a prehistoric landscape with some Triceratops-like dinosaurs in the background. Overlaid on the image is the text: "I was born in 19-" The joke plays on how people born in the 1900s (especially the late 1900s) can now seem "ancient" or old to younger generations, humorously likening them to dinosaurs.

@heidilifeldman It's interesting that the article refers to Abiline Airport, a nearby regional civil airport, and not Dyess Air Force Base, which is right on the other side of town. This implies they're using a civilian charter carrier rather than military transport for these flights.

I was looking forward to a case where someone was ordered to proceed with the removals, refused, is court-marshaled, and raises an "unlawful order" defense.
