This month it costs $97.99.

A set of geometric shapes, circular, rectangular, triangular and others, like from a child's sorting toy are drawn in grayscale in front of a mountain side. A square entry hole can be seen cut deep into the mountain. All the shapes in unison exclaim "This is my hole, it was made for me!"

Trying an MLK style "reformist" approach now is about as useful as cleaning up an asbestos infestation by getting all your friends to huff the fumes up with your own lungs and zero PPE.

We're at the phase with police killings where we've got stage 4 cancer and people are certain the problem is that we just need to inhale a little bit more asbestos.

Observing how the Waymo's behave in urban traffic, it strikes me that 3 or 4 creative cyclists could easily herd one of them. I wonder if any one has considered organizing Waymo Herding competitions (sort of like sheepdog trials, only with AVs and cyclists).

And of course bonus points if you gather more than to AVs together through a specific intersection.

Happy birthday to #astrophysicist Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin (1900-1979), a trailblazer for women in #astronomy who discovered that hydrogen & helium are the most common elements in the universe.

My linocut portrait of Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin in a lace collar in front of the sun in oranges and black against the blackness of space. At the bottom of the print is the solar absorption spectrum (a rainbow style gradient of indigo at left through to red and black at the right with specific discrete thin black vertical lines at various places).

Today was a great day. After working on sitting up and sensory tolerance for the last few months, I finally felt well enough to go out in my wheelchair! @izzy took me to a green area near where we live, and then as I was still feeling good she took me into Gateshead to look around Big Tesco. Bought ribbons, plastic cutlery, chewing gum and a blue cardigan (I was cold but it's going to be Izzy's).

To save Izzy's weak girl legs we got the bus back up the hill and apart from not fitting on the first one (the wheelchair bay was too small for my chair) I did fine on the second bus, which hasn't been the case in many years. Motion sickness has definitely improved!

I spent some time in the living room before getting back into bed, mostly because my bum was sore. According to my heartrate monitor, the only time it went higher than my normal was when I was being hoisted, which fits with how I felt. How I recover will determine when I can go on my next adventure, but I'll be living off the memories of today for a while 😊

Danni in their wheelchair with Izzy leaning in for a selfie. They both have big happy smiles. Danni, a white person, is wearing a purple hat, purple top with a penguin, sunglasses and headphones, with penguin accessories. Izzy, a white woman with long dark brown hair and brown eyes, is wearing burgundy glasses and a white dress with large pink flowers. There are trees in the background.

Lots of people have commented on the portrait on the wall of the Hog's Hedge over the past few years. He's Lord Admiral Hogratio Quillson. When I was redecorating the feeders @PhineasX offered to contribute some art to the project, and I *love* him. He's my favourite thing about it.

Not just a great artist of naval ancestral hedgehogs, @PhineasX has lots of other art, prints etc you can look at on https://octophant.us/

A majestic portrait of a hedgehog dressed up in an admiral outfit, with a little hat, gold fringes on his jacket, brass buttons, embroidered sleeves, and little medals pinned to his chest. It's done in the style of old time royal/military portraits.
