No, dude. Just fuckin' no, what are you even talkin' about? It's a *company*. They make products, you might even like those products (I often do!), and respect the people who work there (I occasionally do.), but the company is a thing that will roll over 100 babies to make a buck.

Loving a company is such a bizarre perversion I can't really comprehend it. That *THIS* is what it takes to wake some of these fanboys up‽ WTF.

Oh yeah, while I was waiting at the Apple Store, I had to be in the same room where one of the Apple Schmucks was demoing "Apple Intelligence" to the captive audience of people just wanting to get their screens fixed. His big pitch was, "Hey Siri, write a resignation letter as a poem in the style of Robert Frost." It was excruciating.

I suppose today is as good a day as any to announce this: after 13 years, I am no longer at Mozilla and I'm looking for my next thing.

25 years experience in web design and front-end dev (non-React). Mostly dev for the last decade (in a Python/Django environment), but my design roots mean I work well with designers. I'm especially interested in scaling design systems but I've done a LOT of "turn the mockup into a web page" work and I'm pretty good at it.

Ideally looking for fully remote but I'm open to a hybrid situation in the SF Bay Area, if the circumstances fit. Also looking for full time, but open to freelance/contract gigs as well.

I don't know what else to put here. Am I doing this right? Oh yeah, hashtags.

Gorgeous, glossy black bird with penetration red-hot eye, rockabilly crest and a long tail; slender, with an upright posture as pi perches on a green branch. Its beak is short and slender; its gaze, intense.

Gina @Gina@fosstodon.org @janet @YKantRachelRead one doesn't negate the other. We should be strict on mods and see that their views align with defending basic human rights for everyone. Esp now, in these times. At the same time, the dog-piling, name calling ("nazi's, fascists, white supremacists, tech bro's, etc"), the demand for ~immediate~ action otherwise it would prove that they were the names above, whilst these people are volunteers with lives, was disrespectful at best, outright abusive at worst.

Telegraph poles like these, with multiple "code lines", were once a common feature along American railroads. They are distinguishable from ordinary power or telephone lines by their multitude of cables, often occupying several crossarms. They typically carried a power bus plus individual lines for the signals along the route, with more efficient encodings used as technology improved.

They've been mostly supplanted by more modern SCADA systems that don't require so many individual wires.

This is a simple composition, characteristic of the early 20th century Precisionist school. There's little in the frame that isn't essential. The pylons, wires, and tracks all converge at a vanishing point at the edge of the frame, suggesting, but not showing, a more expansive network of wires, tracks, and, for better or worse, human dominance over nature.
