Something for the weekend? I'm super pleased to have just blogged with the 1st issue of #SOURCE. SOURCE is an idea for where to place articles I'd like to write but that are to difficult for my brilliant paid clients to home. SOURCE is opensource, free (pay as you feel) and I'd LOVE it if you shared my first experimental issue on Computational Fluid Dynamics with @FreeCAD that's on this blog. Ta.

The Great Octopus just released their new album "May The Sea Vanquish These Evil Men", https://thegreatoctopus.bandcamp.com/album/may-the-sea-vanquish-these-evil-men
I have not listened to it yet but I'm about to. The Great Octopus makes gritty low-fi music very inspired by the sounds of horror movies from the 70s and 80s; I feel like the #monsterdon crew might enjoy it.

The very best circlejerk.blog post yet: https://circlejerk.blog/neutral-spaces
It’s just perfect, comments and all. It’s a flawless reflection of the various fauxgressive spaces that dominate the web, full of people who seem to be attracted to neoteric ideologies but who are actually repelled by anything that makes them feel uncomfortable.
(Obligatory reminder that this site is not my work, but I know the person who created it and they are outstanding.)

Remember when Meta reset everyone's politics settings so you had to opt-in for "political content" again? I distinctly remember some Meta apologists saying it was a simple mistake.

We can blame the Black community and Latinos for Trump, but really, we just lost the working class. It's that simple. Upper middle class liberals didn't know when to shut up and step aside, and we let them gaslight the working class about their struggles. And then when it was time to identify our lessons learned, we let them vilify the same people they gaslit.
It's time for new voices on the left.

This time last year, a nurse heard two stories leading up to an election. The first story was about how the economy was corrupt. The second story was about how the economy was great, actually!
The nurse didn't have time to read that 5k word think piece on fascism from the NYT. Hell, they can't afford a subscription.
All they know is that one side makes them feel gaslit, and the other acknowledges their struggle. Who does the nurse vote for?
