Harsh midday sun is normally not ideal for architectural photos, but the hard shadows nicely brought out the clapboard siding of this rather dilapidated old former antique shop (which was demolished and cleared a few years later).

"When I think about Jewish leadership, when I think of all of these rabbis, all of these politicians and community leaders. Do they really not understand that for the rest of all of our lives, we are going to be haunted by this and we are going to be called to account, that people are going to have to answer for what's being done to the people of Gaza?
This is going to be for us, the greatest spiritual crisis the Jewish people have faced since the Holocaust. The question will not be 'where was God when Jews were being slaughtered', but 'where were we when we desecrated God's name by allowing in our name, this kind of horror to take place.'
We will not move past this as a people. This will shadow us for the rest of our lives."

To conclude:
a) travel by bicycle and train through Europe is possible,
b) it requires some preparations, though, and then some skills in managing risk,
c) it could be made a lot easier and more popular if European policymakers seriously wanted to decarbonize the transport sector.I enjoyed the entire journey and ended up doing everything I wanted to do.
My main specific choices were,
- to accept (whether I like it or not) that the smartphone is an essential tool (but you need a power bank along with it),
- to buy and interrail ticket (4 days in a month), this may or may not have been the cheapest option, but it provides some flexibility,
- to navigate google-free, that is with OsmAnd~ (the free version, from https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.osmand.plus/),
- to sleep, when needed, in youth hostels (interesting places, good value for money),
- to make sure the bicycle is not too heavy (ruling out any e-bike).Thanks for following so far - will try to answer any questions that might come up (and I have some more projects like this next month).

Spoiler: it wasn't petitions, peaceful protests, and submitting to police brutality that made the uprising happen.

I think a big part of where we went wrong this past decade is focusing too much on the abstract—it was always the idea of Trump we saw as objectionable; his presence. So when he left in 2020, we had nothing left to object to.
We've always had little to say about the infrastructure of fascism—ICE, militarized police, big tech.
When he leaves again, we'll go right back to funding the dictator's toolkit, assuming/hoping a dictator won't ever get their hands on it.
