Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Is Pivoting to Defense Contracting:
"Meta isn’t quietly accumulating cloud contracts through defense subcontractors or merely relaxing its policies to allow the military to build on its open-source AI models. It’s unapologetic about working with the U.S. military and wants everyone — but especially the still-skeptical leadership of the current administration — to know it."

"Who designed this?" you might ask.
Small NYC brownstones such as the one shown here were generally either built from the start as multi-family tenements, or were built as single-family homes and later subdivided into apartments. In the former case, the layout into individual units was part of the original design and generally fairly sane. In the latter case, landlords often tried to squeeze every square inch of rentable space out of the existing layout, at the expense of things like hallways.

This hallway reminded me of a sight gag in the Coens' "Inside Llewyn Davis". I like that the two neighbors have to share a doormat.
The starkly bare hallway and contrasting tones between the walls and the doors and floor make this as much a study in abstract shapes as it is about urban living.

I’m offering a web development apprenticeship (focused on PHP, HTML, and CSS) to one person during July. Details and application info in the link above. I think it’ll be a lot of fun!

OpenAI is featuring a "Looksmaxxing GPT" that provides "PSL ratings" for photos. It will rate people as "subhuman", and advise men to get invasive procedures like jaw surgery to "increase their sexual market value" among women, who it describes as "hypergamous by nature".
"PSL" is short for "PUAhate Sluthate Lookism", a group of three manosphere/incel communities. PUAHate came to public attention after Elliot Rodger's 2014 mass shooting in Isla Vista, California, when it came out that he frequented the platform to talk about his "incel" status.
After uploading a photo, this GPT gives ratings like "Subhuman", "Low Normie / High Subhuman Borderline (White)", or "high-tier normie, borderline Chadlite".
It proactively offers to provide "hardmaxxing" (medical interventions like plastic surgery) or "softmaxxing" advice (grooming, fitness training, etc).
