Autocorrect very much wants to capitalize the “m” in Emacs, because it believes I must be talking about the eMac. And, sure, I get why that is in Apple’s dictionary, but are there that many people regularly talking about a Mac that hasn’t been made in 20 years?

This is important information because we need to stop the narrative that militarized police suddenly appear and disappear depending who is in office.

If we happen to survive Trump, we need to get to work and put pressure on Dems to dismantle the militarized police forces in this country.

Facts.

Biden is objectively worse than Trump from the perspective of police violence, and it's not remotely close.

The all time list is:

  1. Reagan
  2. Biden
  3. Nixon

https://hachyderm.io/@mekkaokereke/114530823609876691

Trump would need to first beat Biden's 2024 high score, and then increase incarceration by 1 million people a year, for the next *checks notes* 20 years (not a typo), and then transfer more net worth than all Black US people have in total, to even approach Biden numbers. Biden the Democrat.🤡

After Trump left office in 2020, we had an opportunity to stop, or at least slow, the further militarization of our police. Instead, our elected officials kicked it into overdrive.

Since 2020, we've had EIGHTY cop cities in planning, development or fully developed. We gave record-breaking amounts of money to police.

We didn't push back at all. Now we have Israeli-trained police ready to go to war with protesters at a moments notice.

DIAL M
FOR MONEY

The image is a newspaper clipping from a publication titled "PHONE WARS." The main headline reads "DIAL 'M' FOR MONEY," suggesting a focus on telecommunication issues. The newspaper has a vintage appearance with a yellowed, aged look, indicating it might be from several decades ago. The layout includes a large photograph of a black telephone keypad on the left side, with the numbers 2, 6, and 8 visible. The article is written by Simon Garfield, as indicated at the bottom. The text is divided into columns, with subheadings such as "The Future" and "Military Lasers," suggesting a broader discussion on technology and its implications. The overall tone of the article seems to address the economic and technological aspects of phone services.
