As expected, the quilted protest sign was a hit with quilters (and a smidge confusing for non-quilters)

@joelvanderwerf @cafechatnoir Exactly! When protests are truly local, they reflect real, rooted community outrage—not some “outside agitator” fantasy.
Also… if someone did bus 4000 people into Coupeville, I’d want to meet their logistics team. That’s a miracle in itself.

KENMORE
turned out. I've literally never seen Kenmore have its own one of these. Kenmore _does_ show up for politics - but at meetings and stuff, not on streets. Kenmore people who want to go to streets join up with Lake Forest Park (if they're on the west side of the lake) or Bothell (if they're on the east), largely because there's no really good place to be seen in Kenmore.
(Kenmore has big gathering places but they're not near the highway. Nobody sees you.)
But this time Kenmore said "fukkit this time we're doing our own too" and they did _pretty well_.

I managed to go to one of the smaller (turned out to be not that small) #NoKings protests in a small town in Texas. I wasn't sure if I would be brave enough to go, so I didn't make a sign, but I did carry a US flag. And so did a LOT of other people.
It wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be. I was still a bit nervous. (I REALLY don't like crowds.) But I found a spot near the end that wasn't too crowded. It was actually fun. I'm so glad I went.

Imagine misappropriating $50mm of taxpayer money, meant for the defense of the nation, so you could have a parade with “twucks and tanks and army men” for your birthday and STILL no one showed up… just like when you were a little boy.

For the last few months I was really really worried about the rapid decline of the US right before our eyes
A lot of officials remained silent, companies kissed the ring etc
The recent rise up against Musk was a great start but I think today was a day that really gave hope!
So many people showed up across the US, that really shows we're not alone in this and that we're all sick and tired of it
Keep it peaceful, keep protesting and keep resisting!
You are truly wonderful!❤️

Hearing the terrible news from Minnesota has only made me angrier. Like HELL was I going to do what that cowardly murderer wants and stay in, so I went down as planned to the huge protest downtown. I am very sorry for those left bereaved by this senseless violence, and I figure the one thing I can do to help is still march. The more of us turn out, the faster we can put a stop to these horrific tragedies.
