Did some super light coding this weekend with GitHub Copilot’s Agentic mode.
To be honest liked it quite a bit and similar enough to what Windsurf does that I might stick with it since it’s free (not sure why).

Aside: Although the new embassy, which had been in the works for years, opened during the first Trump administration, he disliked the building so much that he refused to attend its official opening. Presumably not enough gold-leaf.

Deigned by the Philadelphia architectural firm KieranTimberlake*, the chancery building incorporates a number of sustainable design elements, and has been generally well received (international politics aside) by staff and local residents. It replaced a mid-century modern structure (by Eero Saarinen, now being redeveloped as a hotel) in the more traditionally fancypants Grosvenor Square neighborhood.
* Coincidentally, also the designer of Penn's Levine Hall, where I once had my office.

The new US Embassy to the UK, completed in 2017, is a roughly cubically-shaped glass box covered on three sides with a semi-transparent textured Teflon "envelope" that aids in temperature regulation. Situated in a landscaped compound on the Thames between the Battersea Power Station and MI6's famous Vauxhall headquarters, it's one of the most distinctive recent structures on that part of London's South Bank.

The embassy's exterior "envelope" curtain forms an interesting abstract pattern that reminds me of the sound absorbing tiles that line recording studios and anechoic chambers. This photo shows the western-facing side.

Putting aside everything else that's wrong with streaming platforms, why is there still no "Report" option in Tidal or Spotify? A quite regular occurence is artist pages and New Releases playlists including tracks from impersonators with the same name. Absolutely no way to fight it.

I am SO impressed by how today's #NoKings demonstration in #MadisonWI was organized. There was puppetry, fun things for kids of all ages, and brief big-tent speeches about the importance of standing up to authoritarianism.
I heard someone on west bound #BRT A bus saying this is like a west side reunion on this bus. It feels like half of my neighbors are on this bus. 🥰

One arrested at peaceful “#NoKings” protest in #NashvilleTN
by Cassandra Stephenson
Sat, June 14, 2025 at 1:53 PM EDT"Metro Nashville Police officers arrested a masked counter protester carrying what appeared to be a handgun and a '#DontTreadOnMe' flag at the 'No Kings' protest at Bicentennial Park during Saturday’s 'No Kings' protest in Nashville.
"No shots were fired.
"Kase Cosgrove, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and safety volunteer attending the protest, said he approached the man after other protesters told him the man was armed and spitting and shoving people while walking through the crowd.
"Cosgrove said he walked toward the man and saw him tapping on what appeared to be a handgun and pulling it out of its holster to show people he was armed. Cosgrove approached him and attempted to talk to him but three police officers quickly arrived, retrieved the weapon and put the man in handcuffs.
"Cosgrove said the protest — part of a nationwide protest against the Trump administration — has been peaceful and fittingly musical, being in Music City.
"Thousands of people attended the protest, lining the sidewalks along Jefferson Street and Rosa Parks Blvd. and walking through Bicentennial Park after a brief gathering at the park’s amphitheater. Cheers, musical instruments and car horns echoed up and down the street.
"Protesters ranged in age from young adults to the elderly, and many people brought children and dogs.
" 'Everybody else is being chill,' said Cosgrove. ' . . . He was trying to cause problems.'
"Protesters yelled at the man as police put him into an MNPD golf cart. Cosgrove was among them, shouting, 'You got tread on!' "
