No. This is not how these systems work.

But even if they DID work that that way (and they most assuredly don’t), the fact that something COULD HAVE happened is not evidence that it actually DID happen*.

You may or may not remember that “they used satellites to flip the votes” was one of the laughably ridiculous claims after 2020. It’s still laughably ridiculous for 2024.

Come on, at least make up some original bullshit here.

I’m not going to repeat or link to this nonsense, but no, you can’t flip votes by satellite via compromised power strips in any actual election system used in the US (or elsewhere on our planet, as far as I know).

Yikes, the latest iteration of “the 2024 election was stolen” conspiracy crap is an order of magnitude more bonkers than the last. And, unsurprisingly, echos almost perfectly the bonkers stuff from 2020, with the parties reversed.

Just stop.

These cheapo radios have improved a lot in recent years (some are even Part 90 certified, somehow), and generally put out passably clean signals. The audio is generally kind of crappy, but for 20 or 30 bucks (including accessories), it's hard to complain.

Radio nerditry: If you need to program an XHDATA E-100 radio (a recent addition to the growing lineup of frighteningly cheap handheld two-way radios from China), the commonly available CHIRP software works fine when set to "Baofeng K6".

For the price, it's a neat little radio, with its share of quirks.

This humble, somewhat dilapidated shelter, a few miles south of SFO airport, once housed a medium wave aviation beacon (NDB). It currently hosts a variety of aviation surveillance sensors. Its location is also waypoint on the way to SFO runway 28R.

This kind of infrastructure, integral to so much in the modern world, is often nearly invisible, yet also heroic.

@Fledglingnerd @pluralistic A libertarian friend came to stay and spent about four uninterrupted hours trying to persuade me of the superiority of libertarianism. At the end of it, he was thirsty and went to get a glass of water from the tap. He stopped and said “Is the water here OK to drink?”

It was 2AM and my filters had long since checked out. Without thinking, I just said “That depends on who bought the water company.”

To his credit, he laughed and said “Touché.”
