cool, looks like I found all the pieces for my little (collapses to 65cm, so will fit in bike trailer, and expands to 6m) fiberglass antenna mast & guying kit. time to dig out a portable endfed HF antenna next, and look for a not-rainy evening to load up my bike with a rig & a battery and set up somewhere… perhaps near the Highland Park reservoir, so I can get some altitude.

"The critical work, then, lies in building power for people to secure their affordable housing, food, and dignity via a path that does not flow through an authoritarian strongman or the scapegoating of women, minorities, or immigrants.
And that trail will be blazed as it always has been: by workers’ unions, tenants’ unions, debtors’ unions, and similar groups."

It's wild that an individual takes on the task to evaluate SD card performance. In a better world, you'd expect a tech news/reviews publisher would do something cool and useful like this:

the one thing i really implore, in the made up year of 2025, is that we don't sit around being continually surprised that things are falling apart. many of us did the math on this years ago and saw it coming, everything is proceeding according to the laws of physics and other sciences. you are not a deer caught in headlights, you are an animal with opposable thumbs and incredible agency on this planet. for fucks sake use your powers

Does anyone know the concrete technical reason(s) that LLM website scrapers have been so much nastier to deal with than the ones used by major search engines? Like do these people just not know how to write a scraper that won't DDOS (or equivalent effect) a server? Are they trying to get the data faster or more thoroughly than other scrapers? Do they just not care? Like obviously they don't care but I can't tell if that's the main reason they're so horrible or some more technical point.

This is maybe not entirely ready for prime time, but I figured I'd get it out there so that some people who actually understand Wayland can poke at it...

Often, when I cut out a paragraph or two from an essay, I'll paste it into a new text doc just in case I need it again. Sometimes I just want to see how something reads without a passage.
Would be cool if my writing app had a sort of "editor's drawer" where I can throw passages in while I'm editing a blog post without creating a new doc.
