Laura Loomer is an advisor to Trump, and she's quite clear that what's going on is not "deporting criminal aliens" but the ethnic cleansing of all 65 million Latinos in the US. In fact she's pretty clear she wants this to be the genocide of the US Latino population.

I'm not sure many people recognize we're already a few lines into the "first they came for the..." poem. But we are.

Laura Loomer comments on Twitter: "Alligator lives matter. The good news is, alligators are guaranteed at least 65 million meals if we get started now." Someone with the Bluesky handle "El Norte Recuerda" comments, "The entire Latino population in the U.S. is 65 million. She means all of us."

@isagalaev I wouldn't have much confidence in Boeing but an incident to an aircraft originally delivered in 2012 is not likely a reflection of their current state:

Seems more likely a maintenance problem.

You know the drink identifiers on a cup lid with the labels Diet, Coke, etc.?

When I was young, I thought it was someone's job to rummage through the trash and tally the amount of each type of soda sold.

Like, some marketing dude is standing in a landfill shouting to his boss— "we sold a hundred thousand cokes this week!"

With that perspective, you start... (ahem)... "rethinking best practices".

@slightlyoff's @gitnationorg talk is pretty worthwhile and digs into the CPU limitations of the main thread.

TLDR: there's a good chance many (most?) of the openat(O_PATH) calls in the wild are kinda wrong, and everyone should have used open_tree() instead...

Being “genteel” doesn’t cut it when this is the crap driving the politics in power (unless you are cool with genocide I guess). Here’s the census data btw: https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2024/population-estimates-characteristics.html

Politics matter. Saying something matters. Doing something matters. Stand for those at risk before it’s too late. Deafening silence, faux politeness, sheepishly looking away, just doesn’t cut it.

No, they are not the same as in JS. Like with CSS properties, the order inside doesn't matter and we can write everything in reverse. 🙃

Speaking of #darktable … Here's the comparison of the almost unedited file vs. the final result. Here's what changed:

- added saturation
- removed the blue-ish highlight on the cat's face (daylight is a bitch!)
- lightened the shadow side of the face
- cat's eyes are greener
- the wall is darker and more orange to create the mood
- sharpened + exaggerated texture of the whole thing a little

This was fun!. I don't know why anyone would want some AI do it for them.

Unedited photo of a gray striped cat lying on a wooden shelf against a yellow wall. It's pretty plain, and the colors tend towards ugly.
