Well my employer has decided to partner with Palantir, which means it's time for me to find a new job. I was a lot more willing to make 40% less than market rate when I knew my employer wasn't funding concentration camps because they want AI coding tools.

Anyway of you need a UX designer/researcher who knows his way around government regulations, healthcare, enterprise software I'm looking!

i'm learning how to put myself out there more when it comes to asking for support financially (thanks to @binarydigit & others), so please forgive me if this is a stumble!

to help support me while i'm unemployed, i'm trying something new: just opened an avenue to support me and my work through buymeacoffee.com. there's so much more i want to do. i doubt i could reach the point i could stop looking for work, but a girl can dream! in the meantime, this helps offset some of the out-of-pocket costs that my projects take and helps me code more (with less stress).

if you've enjoyed any of my work, blog posts, etc., consider tossing me a tip if you can. i know times are hard out here, so do not feel bad if you can't. no shame, no pressure.

thanks for indulging me, friends. <3

Screenshot of a chrome web browser visiting legobricktakeback.com. The bottom half of the page is covered by a "we value your privacy" pop-up instructing you how to opt out of data collection. The middle 1/6 of the remaining screen space is covered by a separate popup: "Select your region" with several choices. At the top left, another pop-up reads: legobricktakeback.com wants to know your location. Allow while visiting the site, allow this time, never allow. (edited) The remaining visible portions of the site are dimmed, but mostly unreadable behind all of the pop-ups.

To any Austrailians being misinforned by Sky News, please know that Europe is just fine.

The fact that Sky News has found some social media clips of a few criminals committing crimes in Spain and France does obviously not mean that a continent of 744 million people “has fallen”. All it means is, Australia needs better media.

Very clickbaity headline from Sky News Australia: “Europe has fallen”.

Captured on a short hike with a small mirrorless camera, 35mm lens, lightweight tripod, and enough neutral density for a roughly 30 second exposure.

Flowing water is a subject that lends itself to motion studies that reveal what our unaided eye can't see, controlled by exposure time. At 1/3000 sec, every drop of water freezes in place. At 30 seconds, we see smooth, cloud-like structures that obscure individual perturbations. Only at around 1/30 sec does the camera see what we do.
