We’ll be on the show floor all weekend showing off what we’ve been working on for the last year, including some toys that I sculpted my very self, and lots of toys that I’ve had a hand in manufacturing right here in Ellijay with our merry band of worldbuilding comrades, and I’m excited as heck to see how they’re received by other artists, designers, and the general toy-loving public!

the problem with working with any non-trivial dataset of any kind, is that you can almost always write code to process 95% of the entries in a short period. then it takes 10 times as long to handle the remaining 5% of weird outliers

The real mystery is why SDOs haven't evicted them. The basis for modern web SDOs hinges on the ability for competitors to ship without restraint, creating demand for cooperation. But when it's all window dressing, surely there should be some minimal self-preservation instinct?

I don't think there's a great answer for this. I've used #LatinX, #Latine, and #Latin. But I am reverting back to #Latino as that is the overwhelmingly recognized name by the people in those cages—male, female, and non-binary persons.

I think you should also just pick one and stick with it. I won't tell you what to use. Ultimately, getting dragged on the internet every once in a while for using the "wrong" term is a small price to pay imo.

I support inclusive language. I've always felt, however, that the term LatinX was clumsy and did not respect the language, especially since Latine is right there.

The term LatinX gained popularity as a way to be inclusive in our language. It gained credibility because we spread the claim that LatinX was coined by LatinX people, specifically LatinX college students.

The problem is, there is no evidence for this claim.
