My absolute favorite, though, was an email sent to the grad coordinator when I was at Penn, addressed to Prof. Levine Hall. It went on, effusively and at length, about how inspiring Prof. Hall's research had been to this student, and how honored he'd be to study under his supervision.

Levine Hall was the name of our building.

i've modified wasi-libc and wasi-sdk (PRs pending) so that you always have the concurrency APIs (pthread_*, thrd_*, , , ) available to you, even in single-threaded targets. this makes porting applications (especially C++ ones) much, _much_ easier!

I think one of the (many) problems in England right now is that nothing works anymore after decades of underinvestment, but bureaucracy acts like it still does. Government website down? The deadline still exists. Documents lost in the post? Not an excuse because that's not supposed to be possible. Didn't buy a train ticket because the machine wasn't working and they've closed the ticket office? Still get a fine. Late for work because public transport is collapsing? No excuse.
