Texas attorney general Ken Paxton, who fled his own impeachment hearings and refused a court order to release his travel records after speaking at the rally in Washington that preceded the January 6 insurrection, has described wayward Democratic legislators as “cowards”.

This has always been how the internet has stayed online — direct interpersonal manners and the understanding that being a “you can’t MAKE me show restraint” dick about it will have dire long term consequences for everyone. The AI upstarts who think they’re too special to show manners to their peers are fucking up the common good for everyone.

This is quite a stunning visual. Many bacteria feature the CRISPR viral immunity mechanism. This consists of pieces of remembered viral DNA, interspersed (the "I" in CRISPR) between repetitive elements. This viral DNA is then recognized & neutralized. I ran the UNIX 'less' command on E. Coli DNA and searched for the CRISPR repetitive element, and behold: #why2025

DNA with 10 highlighted segments, the CRISPR repetive element, with interspersed 'spacers' containing viral DNA.

I watched a video where the host unboxed the Fairphone 6. That's the new one. He mentioned that some of the internal packaging had braille, so I asked in r/fairphone. Turns out the braille tells the user to scan this QR code, which links to fairphone.com/accessibility. I was impressed, until I went to that address and found it just redirects to the main help page. There's nothing specific to accessibility there. Worse, it seems fairphone.com might use an accessibility overlay?

Bluebird Between Worlds.

This overexposed photograph captures a bluebird perched on a powerline, bathed in light so intense it softens every detail. I love the way it looks—almost like a watercolor painting, where the bird seems to dissolve into the brightness, delicate and dreamlike.

"An eastern bluebird (Sialia sialis) perches delicately on a twisted metallic wire, suspended in a world of light. The background is so overexposed it dissolves into pure white, erasing all context and grounding—leaving only the bird and its perch floating in a dreamlike void. The bluebird’s feathers shimmer with electric blue, almost glowing against the stark brightness. Its reddish-brown chest and white throat peek through the haze, like a memory half-remembered. The bird’s head is turned slightly, as if listening to something beyond the frame. The image feels both intimate and otherworldly, as though the bird has stepped out of time and into a realm of light. The photographer’s signature, “© Swede's Photographs,” anchors the bottom right corner, the only other trace of reality." - Copilot
