Bloody hell, finally, I think I’m done with the Markdown support rewrite in Kitten.

The Markdown rule for interpreting four spaces as code fences has been the biggest pain in my neck during this whole ordeal but, bitching aside, it means the parser is now more accurate and thus stronger for it.

If all goes well, expect a Monday release :)

From artist Pinko Joe:

In the style of old timey comics, a huge sandwich is flying towards a DC "cop" saying "Shame!" The cop is grimacing and yelling "Ayy! It's the DEEP STATE!" The title is "HERO SANDWICH." (for non-native English speakers, "hero sandwich" is an old fashioned term for a sub sandwich like the one pictured. I'm not sure where the name comes from, but Sandwich Guy Sean Dunn is certainly an American hero.)

Trump has made no comment. The White House has found the time to post a video of the arrest of that guy who threw a sandwich at a cop, but nothing about a cop killed defending the government's own employees.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, whose district includes parts of Atlanta, has also said nothing.

CDC leadership also hasn’t been very communicative. To be fair to them, their staff who would would have dealt with this situation were mostly fired by DOGE.

So my fellow civil servants at the CDC feel abandoned. They are hated with a murderous rage and no one cares.

You know why CDC has blast-proof windows? A response to the Oklahoma city bombing, in 1995. That's how long the American right wing has been mass-killing federal workers.

The bombing followed the Gingrich Revolution of 1994, when hatred of government workers rushed into the political mainstream.

"Vote blue no matter who" always meant "vote blue as long as they're corporate centrists." Is it any wonder the party has a 26% approval rating?
