It is community garden vs big agriculture scale of difference. It is all about power, capture, control.

Look too closely at the tool and you will not see the hand that holds it, nor that it is a weapon.

Linux Is Best @Linux@mstdn.ca 21/08/2025, 10:17 Replying to @aral BLOCKED. Real news doesn't take sides in war reporting. War is ugly. Awful things are done by all sides. A credible source shows the truth on every side, not just the one that fits a certain narrative. Take the conflict between Israel and Palestine, for example. It has lasted decades. If a news outlet always portrays one side as righteous and the other as evil — that's not real journalism. Both sides have committed atrocities, and real news should say that. BBC News does just that. Not surprising, they upset, both sides (Israel and Palestine). Do you know what I think about that? GOOD. It means they're doing their job.

Matze Schmidt @matzeschmidt@masto.ai 49m Replying to @aral The #Hamas has been attacking Chan Yunis on August, 20 in the south of #Gaza. An ongoing war led by #Israel against the armed is to be expected although there been demonstrations against it. The Strip is in fact a prison in which the Harakat al-muqãwama al-islamiyya (Islamic Resistance) rules people. There is an urban warfare going on and no genocide. The genocide accusation is discussed for being a narrative by arab sides but is the modern form of creating a scapegoat. GREEN Badly sketched cartoon depicting “Fort Gaza Hamas City” with armed soldiers guarding the border by a group of people by a sign that reads JEWS ARE DEAD. Other signs read “zero Allah but alla” (sign labelled as green), maimed person labelled “blood red”

r/vibecoding post titled, "What's the point of vibe coding if I stall have to pay a dev to fix it?" that reads, "what's the point of vibe coding if at the end of the day i still gotta pay a dev to look at the code anyway. sure it feels kinda cool while i'm typing, like i'm in some flow state or whatever, but when stuff breaks it's just dead weight. i can't vibe my way through debugging, i can't ship anything that actually matters, and then i'm back to square one pulling out my wallet for someone who actually knows what they're doing. makes me think vibe coding is just roleplay for guys who want to feel like hackers without doing the hard part. am i missing something here or is it really just useless once you step outside the fantasy"

Yes, #Fedilab has some differences between its Google Play version and its #FDroid version.
There are mostly due to restrictions from Google.

In the Google app we had to remove:

- Donation links
- Register an account on Mastodon (as they don't want to understand that the app doesn't collect emails).
- Filter some search results with #Peertube to exclude "YouTube Downloader" videos

To Google users, keep in mind you can easily switch to FDroid, we would be happy to help if you have questions
