If you're thinking "I don't know if I should share this joy I made/received/heard of/felt/saw/tasted/wished for" listen to me now and hear me later. Or maybe days later when you're alone with you. When maybe you didn't know how much you needed that hug. From anyone. Or everyone.

Basically, folks need soul food when they can get it.

And yet, still no #sanctions on #Israel forthcoming.

Wayback inaccuracies: Sometimes I'll be looking through archived pages on the Wayback Machine and notice a capture isn't actually from the date that is listed. For example, this archive from July 2023 doesn't line up with my personal captures of this same website site from that time. Some of the text even mentions events that had not yet happened, like meetings in 2024.

Has anyone else run into issues with archived pages that did not come from the dates listed?

So I wrote this little poem, with a little sadness and a little acceptance. For all those sounds I love that are fading away as I become increasingly deaf...

My native language is Spanish so I put the original and then the translation.

Los pájaros se han ido
Los loros ya no juegan
en las ramas
La lluvia ya no canta
y el viento apenas sopla
Las risas de los niños
los perros del vecino
y la voz de ella
se alejan poco a poco
El silencio me devora
lentamente...

The birds have left
The parrots no longer play
on the branches
The rain no longer sings
and the wind barely blows
The children's laughter
the neighbor's dogs
and her voice
gradually fade away
The silence slowly devours me...

Perhaps the most painful loss is the loss of oneself, when time slowly steals away your gifts and treasures...

Hey! Anyone along the Erie Canal east of Syracuse or the Hudson south of Albany down to New York!

I went and saw the Flotsam River Circus tonight in Brewerton. About a dozen circus performers and musicians on a raft doing their thing for a large crowd — which is impressive given they apparently budget nothing toward publicity, it's mainly word of mouth.

They're going from Buffalo to New York as part of the Canal's 200th anniversary; they've done 17 shows so far and will do about 20 more in the next few weeks. All free, donations accepted.

Lots of fun and well done. Big recommend.

This view reminded me of Malvina Reynolds's famous 1962 song (though she was inspired by nearby Daly City). If you look closely, the houses don't quite "all look just the same", but somehow, viewed on the hillside, there's more uniformity than there is up close.
