In the UK, you can now get arrested under the Terrorist Act for wearing a T-shirt against Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Paul Laverty is to be charged under section 13 of the Terrorist Act for wearing a T-shirt with the words: “Genocide in Palestine, time to take Action”, thought to show support for activist group Palestine Action, proscribed as a terrorist organisation by the UK Labour government for painting fighter jets in a protest.

Say hello to my lovely friend Susu ❤️

He is a real hero. His patience and strength are wonderful

He lived 13 months of displacement with us while we were in a tent in Rafah and Mawwasi. He lived a tough famine and reached to the point the we have nothing to feed him.

He is great friend of my family and his positive vibes every morning give us a hope ❤️

A day is coming when we will look on the US flag with the same disgust as its Confederate counterpart. Not as the flag of the "greatest nation on earth," but as a flag of thieves and murderers. A flag that flew over the genocide of Native peoples, the despoiling of our planet, the plunder of the global commons, and the enslavement, imprisonment, and immiseration of millions.

This is not a patriotic event and we do not believe that flag desecration will remain a "protected" activity under an increasingly autocratic regime. The future is contested! Rather than a cause for retreat, these circumstances necessitate bold and joyful action, interventions of solidarity and refusal. Our freedom is not guaranteed by the dead letter of slavers (for many it never was), but we have everything we need to build a new world, with our hearts and hands, channeling the spirit of resilience and possibility that we experienced in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene!

We burn the flag to light the way out of our grave. 🔥

The constitutional republic has fallen, but we still have each other! This Labor Day, gather with friends and neighbors to share food, reflections on our present moment, and contempt for the government. If you are able, please bring reusable plates and cutlery along with a dish (vegan and gluten-free preferred).

While we aren't aware of any past flag burning events in Asheville, we aim to make this one the biggest! Mini flags will be provided for all attendees, but you are welcome to bring your own (cotton and paper only please—we're dishonoring the nation, not the neighborhood air quality).

Gather with us at 5pm. Flag burning will begin promptly at 6pm!

The image features a photo of a field of small US flags planted in the ground. The flag in the foreground has a clipart flame pasted over it. A callout includes the text "mini flags provided!"

Trump will, inevitably, claim that the DC local government irresponsibly left the parks in such bad shape that he was forced to have the National Guard clean them up.

Nope. The parks where the Guard units are picking up trash - the Tidal Basin and the National Mall - are and have always been *federally* owned, and are operated by the National Park Service. To the extent that they were a mess, that was a failure of Trump's administration, not DC.

🏁 The @robb × @omgdotlol Relay for St. Jude fundraiser is up and running! :prami_happy:

I have some links to share, but the most important link is this one, where you can give now to help St. Jude’s mission to end childhood cancer: http://stjude.omg.lol

Robb and I also both have pages up with some details:

As always, I’m donating 50% of everything omg.lol earns to the fundraiser, now through 9/30. And also as always, there will be stickers! And, against all business advice I’ve received over the past year, I’m bringing back lifetime omg.lol addresses for a short time. More on that soon, as well as some other surprises.

And don’t forget that you can show your support for St. Jude by swapping your omg.lol profile page Footer Branding to the St. Jude logo!

It’s going to be a fun month (and hopefully a generous one, but definitely fun at the very least). Thanks for coming along with us as we try to make a dent in childhood cancer and support families who are going through the unthinkable. ❤️
