@owa So things happened. Almost all of them were embarrassing, but because our tech press is so abjectly...well...abject, Apple might get away with continued scofflaw nonsense:

Did they reach out to consumer groups? Developer groups like @owa ? Sure doesn't look like it. But they did repeat Apple's hot trash about how much time they're having to spend to [ check notes ] obey the law.

The reason we're releasing this in theatres is because it's incredibly fun to watch in a room full of people. People lose their minds at it. We want people to watch it together.

So! Do you run or know somebody who runs an indie theatre?

If so, contact us, and we'll let you screen it for free.

It's so good, in fact, we were set to release it in theatres nationwide on October 2nd.

Then two weeks ago, Charlie Kirk was shot.

Similarities can and probably have been made to the case of Epic v. Apple in US courts, wherein Apple did everything they could to piss off the judge, to the point where her statement of "No more delays, no more tricks, just do what I've told you" was filled with substantial ire and between-the-lines derision.

(The fact that Apple's whiny efforts to deny the need to fulfill the order basically boiled down to 'but it'll cost us money' didn't help.)
