@manton So let me get this straight: you dropped into my mentions, posted a complete lie about me, accused me of spreading other lies (without elaboration or evidence), and now you’re deleting that post (which incidentally isn’t even deleted from Mastodon because your ActvityPub implementation remains deeply flawed), and you just want to pretend it never happened?
Add in the fact that the thing you accused me of lying about—the receipt of a cease and desist notice earlier this year—was the most stressful thing I’ve experienced in a very long time. And you just casually declared that I made it up? Can you maybe take a moment to consider how that might make someone feel? (And look up DARVO while you’re at it.)
And now after the damage is done, you just want to hit the undo button?
This doesn’t sit well with me. At all. I share a fair amount of criticism toward you, for sure, but it’s all based on your own writings and actions. You don’t have to like it, though it remains my right to post it. But I have never once said an untrue thing about you. I’ve said unflattering things, but none were lies. Not once. But today you decided to cross that line yourself when you made an entirety untrue statement about me. And it *really* doesn’t sit well with me.
If you don’t want people to question your integrity, maybe you shouldn’t conduct yourself in a manner that puts your integrity in doubt. Like lying about people.
Let me make this perfectly clear: sharing an opinion about something you’ve said or done is not an “attack”. Pointing out how gross it is that you’d give a written high-five to a jerk CEO is not “coming at you”. Drop the victim framing and grow up. If you don’t like what someone is saying about you, ignore it, or respond to the underlying central point. Don’t just lash out by spreading lies and then write about how no one should ever subject you to criticism because they don’t know what you’re going through.
