In the previous 5 years, 1,500 of those settlers had been killed in these conflicts. The goal of the campaign was to destroy indigenous villages and settlements. The campaign failed.

There's, uh, kind of a lot of sprintf in here. Several of the V7 tar self-stomp bugs were sprintf related. It'd be interesting to check the bounds conditions on these.
