The PSF applied for a $1.5M grant from the US National Science Foundation (NSF) to make innovative improvements to packaging security—and we were recommended for funding! But as a condition of funding, we were asked to affirm that we wouldn’t undertake any diversity, equity, and inclusion work, whether or not we used the government funds to do so.

Watching news about the war in #Ukraine I often wonder how feasible it is for infantry to shoot down drones from the skies. Here's one test done by a Finnish shotgun champion:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mORdXxZ2uKUTurns out it's bloody difficult and probably even practically impossible with a standard automatic rifle designed to shoot at people.

* reinvent curl, but worse

Kit's founder also gives off strong "avoid at parties at all costs" vibes.
The shitty writing UI is especially grating for a newsletter service
But they might be the least bad option in the market currently

I genuinely don't like what Kit has become. Their marketing seems stuck on auto, giving out the same message they sent out pre-Trump/pre-"AI" bubble, and it constantly gives the impression that their customer base is largely grifters.
Kit also has long-standing UI issues that remain unfixed even as they add scores of useless apps. I have had an email stuck in processing for four years that I don't dare poke in case I end up accidentally spam subscribers with a massively outdated email.

Looking at the pricing model, once you factor in teams and white-labelling, Buttondown looks substantially more expensive than Kit (née ConvertKit).
I can do without teams and even other features, but the main reason why I'm not on Kit's cheaper Newsletter tier is I don't want their branding
One, two, buckle my shoe.
Three, four, buckle some more.
Five, six, buckle my sticks.
Seven, eight, buckles are great!
