Hank Green dedicates an entire video to the book "If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies" and platforms one of the authors Nate Soares.
The other co-author, meanwhile, wants humanity to get comfortable with the inevitability of the AI apocalypse, and to...
"die with dignity"
To be clear, Hank doesn't appear interested in approaching this book with a critical lens, instead seems to gush over it. In his second video, he's straight up preaching all the talking points of the book.

Is Hank Green turning into a AI-doomer / Effective Altruist before our eyes?

It's a moral failing to let your fear of terrorism lead you down the road to Islamaphobia, or prevent you from speaking up for Muslim children.

We don't need to rehash how over-educated Nigerians are. If you have an advanced degree from a top US university then you met some of these Nigerians. Some Christian, some Muslim.
Boko Haram killed more people than either ISIS or Al Qaeda. Boko Haram literally means "Western Education is forbidden"
Nigeria drove down the violence of Boko Haram without villifying Islam in general, or resorting to ethnic cleansing. They've been down that dark path in the country's history before, and it leads nowhere good.
Nigeria also drove down maritime piracy. It used to have more piracy than Somalia.

Still, Hank has access to a lot of non-tech savvy people, and he's parroting talking point that tech CEOs love to hear. It would be great if he made room to platform someone like @timnitGebru to his audience.

I think about that a lot.
LLMs are the perfect yes-men, giving the user exactly what they expect to see, making them feel clever and special.
When studying my degree I came up with all these tricks to distinguish in a Turing test whether I was talking to a real intelligence or a fake one. I'm no longer certain I couldn't be charmed into thinking the AI had passed these when it hadn't.
