Definitely for a US audience of people who may have barely heard the term "cooperative", but it is nice to see positive examples of cooperatives being shown (and seeing people work in solidarity with each other to start one). More Perfect Union talks about cooperatives in Italy's Emilia-Romagna administrative region:

Let's have a slow clap for the corporate tools who still have to show up at work and try to spin their bankruptcy fire-sale as Line Goes Up:
"Today's announcement marks a pivotal milestone in securing iRobot's long-term future," said Gary Cohen, iRobot's CEO. "The transaction will strengthen our financial position and will help deliver continuity for our consumers, customers and partners."
I guess their pivot to being an arms dealer didn't work out, huh.

@fromjason The responses you've gotten to these posts are wild, and terrible, and also utterly unsurprising. I legitimately don't understand what the resistance is to someone saying this place has a racism problem, unless you feel like you're part of that problem and don't like being called out. Loving Mastodon and acknowledging its many faults don't need to be mutually exclusive things.
It almost seems like these users don't want people of color to be here, the way they're reacting to the suggestion that there could be more work to do to make it welcoming for them. But of course I'm sure that's not the case since we're all good white people here.
