Are any of my fedi friends a #lawyer or have one they recommend to help me build an updated professional consulting agreement? It doesn't need to be anything crazy, just enough to protect me from bad actors/non-payment.

I made a sweater using Elizabeth Zimmerman's percentage system. It is more of a guide than a pattern, freeing you to make all sorts of adaptations.
I made this sweater oversized and with a raglan neck, for lounging and doing outside chores. I can't wait to make another one that is fitted and meant to be worn out and about!
Have you ever used Elizabeth's percentage system?

I see that misguided narrative in the gutless business leaders who talk about “de-escalation” and “finding real solutions” — as if the problem is just that a few ICE murdered two people, not that all the ICE agents are an authoritarian secret police in the making.
I see that misguided narrative in the elected officials who decry ICE, but then talk about “better training” and “more oversight” — as if the secret police will become humane if they just get a few new rules to ignore and have to sit through a Powerpoint about them.

I see some posts arguing that everything in Minneapolis is just more of the same that people of color have been living with forever, and white people are just waking up to it. I have never once heard that sentiment, however, from a BIPOC person who’s been living •in Minneapolis• for the last two months.
There is a crucial point there: this •is• precedented. It’s all precedented. But it’s not just more of the same.

"AI" is not actually a technology, in the way people would commonly understand that term.
If you're feeling extremely generous, you could say that AI is a marketing term for a loose and shifting bundle of technologies that have specific useful applications.
I am not feeling so generous.
AI is a technocratic political project for the purpose of industrializing knowledge work. The details of how it works are a distant secondary concern to the effect it has, which is to enclose and capture all knowledge work and make it dependent on capital.

My "Infinity Journal" was working well then I just forgot about it lol and reverted to my old process/system. But I'm picking it up again because I enjoyed using it and it was helpful. It was like a journal, to-do, and meeting notes all in one.
