So, Tom represents the WASPs. But he also exists to show how the cycle of abuse works in classist systems like American capitalism.

Shiv dehumanizes Tom because ultimately she believes he's beneath her station. So, Tom internalizes that and passes on the abuse to Craig, oops I mean Greg.

Greg, of course, represents how quickly money and power corrupts. That boy got bougie real quick.

The findings align with cognitive offloading theory and the ‘desirable difficulties’ principle: while AI assistance may ease initial learning, it appears to undermine the effortful processes needed for robust learning."

I can go on about Shiv. She's one of my favorite characters. Second maybe only to Mr. Tom Wambsgans.

Which brings me to their relationship. Holy shit. And believe it or not, I think there's *more* allegory in them hills!

Tom represents the White Anglo-Saxon Protestant WASP power structure—upper middle class, but not rich, less relevant today.

Shiv clearly doesn't respect Tom or his "agricultural walk" lmao. Their dynamic hints that liberalism, absent of class analysis, can often be classist.

Shiv is a compelling choice for Logan. She represents this new world where you must treat women like humans, and cool it on the racial slurs. And it's a world that's costing Logan a lot of money in legal fees.

So Shiv could be a signal that Waystar Roy Co. has *gone woke*. And that could chill the SA allegations.

But, ultimately, Shiv is a woman. I don't think Logan can bring himself to give his empire to a woman. Any boy, isn't that how the cards are dealt for liberalism too sometimes.

Shiv represents Liberalism. Or, liberalism's worst impulses.

For example, using social justice for personal gain. Which is messy. Because 2 things are truing at once.

Shiv confronting Gerri about Roman's dick pic wasn't an act of feminism, but a savvy attempt to neutralize Roman; to get him out of the race.

But also, that doesn't make what Roman did any less gross. Just that Shiv understands the social justice movement well, and she uses it to get closer to the throne.

“even in 1980”

adopted certain basic principles which I believe to be as valid today as they were then. The first principle was security: The principle that every syntactically incorrect program should be rejected by the compiler and that every syntactically correct program should give a result or an error message that was predictable and comprehensible in terms of the source language program itself. Thus no core dumps should ever be necessary. It was logically impossible for any source language program to cause the computer to run wild, either at compile time or at run time. A consequence of this principle is that every occurrence of every subscript of every subscripted variable was on every occasion checked at run time against both the upper and the lower declared bounds of the array. Many years later we asked our customers whether they wished us to provide an option to switch off these checks in the interests of efficiency on production runs. Unanimously, they urged us not to - they already knew how frequently subscript errors occur on production runs where failure to detect them could be disastrous. I note with fear and horror that even in 1980, language designers and users have not learned this lesson. In any respectable branch of engineering, failure to observe such elementary precautions would have long been against the law.

Connor was never going to take over. But throughout the show he truly thinks he has a chance.

Connor represents libertarianism. Throughout the show, Connor is often forgot about, and isn't respected by his siblings.

Ahhh, I can go on and on with Roman. The show did a great job at depicting the new right wing in American politics through the lens of Roman Roy.

He talks such a big game but ultimately he is just a broken boy who refuses to acknowledge his issues. Instead, he projects them on to everyone else.

If that ain't contemporary conservatism lol
