if i weren't broke, i would be the target market for this chip, bluntly. and it would have to drop precipitously before i'd even consider it.
yes, it's ostensibly a gaming chip, but uhhh, tons of L3 cache for 150-200mhz off the top (pushing it into a slightly more efficient range)? don't mind if i do.
but $200 for 64MB extra L3 cache? what the actual fuck?!

anyway it's a very nice chip, very nice indeed and priced so highly you would have to really want that little bit extra for that large hike to justify it to yourself.

they blacklisted gamers nexus, so of course he's got a video that is rather uncomplementary.
meanwhile, steve at hardware unboxed sent their new amd chip off to steve at gamers nexus as soon as they'd tested it, so he got one to test anyway, albeit not in time for that launch day video.
and der bauer says the new chip is pointless.

Have you noticed this thing where when a type of character appears in story enough, they become dissociated from the actual nature of the original character type? E.g. being a cartoon cowboy does not imply that one is a young man who runs cattle. It's about a set of clothes and a gruff attitude. A pirate strictly speaking no longer needs to be engaged in any kind of violent robbery. A princess is someone young with a crown, but may not really need a monarchy they are in line for.

Everybody here on Mastodon keeps saying something along the lines of "not all tech people", meanwhile I have had to make a pact with pretty much everybody I know in tech IRL to not talk about "AI" because they're all major enthusiasts.
