After discussing Pretext with actual font and layout experts at BlinkOn this week, and having seen what happened with React when we stayed relatively quiet about the downsides early on, I think I have to write The Blog Post.

*sigh*

I need a graph of context window growth vs. resources like inference compute / RAM over time. Has anyone already made this?

And does the model's size itself put limits on context windows, or is that purely a feature of the hardware you're doing inference on?

what a delight to finally have a chance to read Jazmyn Crosby's beautiful addition to the #othernetworks universe: an interspecies communication operations manual! she made this gorgeous hand-bound zine as part of her residency at the @mediaarchaeology.bsky.social 💚

a light skinned human hand holds up a copy of a zine titled "Other Networks: Interspecies Communication Operations Manual" by Jazmyn Crosby. it has been created using a Risograph on cream-colored paper with a blue ink drawing of a telephone handset connected to 2 different insect-like creatures. on the left side of the front cover are a series of reddish photographic images of wire, trees, a fence, and a butterfly
