Apparently pirates had a clever way of splitting up looted treasure: 2 shares for the captain, 1.5 shares for some middle-management like positions - the carpenter, medic and quartermaster - then all "normal" pirates got one share each. Similarly the product/system/AI you speak of could divvy the "treasure" in this way. Leaders get something more for their work, but it's not crazy-more.
Why is this so awesome? Because the lowliest pirate who swabs the deck looks at his one share of the treasure, and compares it to the captain's 2 shares - it's a 33% - 66% difference in that relative comparison. This is a psychologically tolerable split for most people.
