another day, another badly written LLM ban (guix).
the good:
- lists some of the harms
- lists the legal uncertainty
the bad:
- praises the output of proprietary models?!
- pretty please don't send us slop
the ugly:
- actually you can slop as much as you like as long at it's not more than 15 lines at a time?!
- calling it a clear stance against AI, which it blatantly is not

so if you do "uint64_t some_var = 1 << 31;" in C you get "0xffffffff80000000" as the value, because that's super obvious and not confusing at all.
It's pretty funny getting reminded how non-intuitive and broken C is from time to time.

Also my company: Signs a contract with Microsoft (out of all the AI-coke dealers they just had to pick the shittiest one) on AI coop.
Also also my company: Officially authorises use of Claude AI. And reading the comments under that announcement made me ask myself "Why the fuck am I in this mental ward disguised as a corporate? Seriously, these people can't be left to their own agency ... wait, they already have none."The AI-rehab is going to be borderline impossible and those who didn't succumb to the AI-coke will go insane from having to fix the mess.

these addicts can no longer work without it, and they're loud about that fact. i suspect a lot of companies will continue to pay the increasing costs at the expense of their employees' salaries and mental health, at least for some time.

It's hard to gauge exactly when this might happen.
The AI companies are certainly positioning themselves for a massive bail-out, hoping the Trump administration will hand them trillions of dollars because they're "too big to fail" if enough CEOs force their employees to adopt this tech.
(Which logically means people who resist it are a threat to their scheme.)
