from NPR this morning (on radio):

official guidance from the state is to have mailed your vote by mail ballot by wednesday last week due to recent changes in postmark policy for elections snd slowdowns at usps.

if you haven’t mailed your ballot yet:
- go to post office and have them postmark it in front of you
- drop it off in an official ballot drop box
- turn in your ballot tomorrow at polling location and vote in person instead

don't get me wrong i have never not believed that it could ever really work out, but capitalism has been throwing money at it, doing absolutely everything to make it appear to work for long enough. the old adage is that the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.

well i ceased to be solvent a long time ago now, so i'm glad the market is finally going to feel some of my pain.

The answer we came up with in 2008 was “No,” but I feel like maybe we should revisit that in the next couple of months.

We have to be able to charge them with _something_.

I had a brain idea so I made a picture of it. #pride

A very wide image labeled: Top text: There's more pride than the eye can see In the center is a version of the 8-stripe pride flag, rotated so that the stripes are vertical, which fades out at the left and right. Bottom text: Left: "Ultra Pride" Center: "Visible Pride" Right: "Infra Pride" It's similar to the kind of diagram that demonstrates that the visible light spectrum is only a subset of all wavelengths of light (photons)

On our walk near Cardross we met a 95-year-old lady who invited us to visit her woodland garden. It is an amazing place, a wood full of rhododendrons and azaleas amongst tall trees, paths winding through it with bridges across a little burn, wild flowers, beehives, so many things to discover.

Rhododendrons and azaleas in a riot of colours, white, red, yellow, purple, surrounded by tall green trees and even taller conifers.
