Deep read on the erosion of expertise by the hubris of the investor class. Well worth your time to take it all in.

are microsoft in fact attempting to pull a really clever and evil and cleverly evil and evilly clever move?

you see, i've thought for some time that microsoft would be the one to end the AI bubble. they are the ones who have the most chance of turning into a profitable thing. and they really can't, not even remotely.

so microsoft, who were basically the last offering a useful 'unlimited' plan couldn't even keep pretending to make it work. i think this will bring everything else down. for a start, those platforms cannot absorb this number of users while they're making a loss on every token. anyone else anyone flees to will have to raise prices too.

and anthropic just filed for IPO. today of all days. i think microsoft is going to tank anthropic's IPO. but is it intentional, hoping to pick up anthropic for a song?

i think they'd have stiff competition, but they might think they could get away with it.

You're expected to cancel your subscription. Full stop.

I'm not being dramatic or sensational, they want individual users to stop using this product. It's so obvious that's their goal and I'm surprised so many people haven't understood.

They stopped new cusomter sign-ups, showed us the outrageous new multipliers, and gave us a preview of how wildly uncompetitive their new pricing would be. I don't know what else they can do to tell you they want you to leave. It's unusable on purpose, take the hint(s) and find another solution.

that is... a fair point. is microsoft finally giving up on copilot?

First working hour of the day, a simple refactor (moving some controllers and models from one service to another, took it a minute or two??) hit 6% on the usage chart. At this rate, I'll max out my account in the next 16 working hours. Unfortunately since I asked AI to do that calculation, now it's 15 hours.

- drop it off in an official ballot drop box
- turn in your ballot tomorrow at polling location and vote in person instead

don't get me wrong i have never not believed that it could ever really work out, but capitalism has been throwing money at it, doing absolutely everything to make it appear to work for long enough. the old adage is that the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.

well i ceased to be solvent a long time ago now, so i'm glad the market is finally going to feel some of my pain.
