There are many reasons why I end up feeling like #PrideMonth isn't meant for me.

Being demi makes a lot of gay cis male spaces uncomfortable. The way gay men objectify each other tells me a lot about the shitty beliefs a lot of men have towards women.

Stereotypes like, "Oh, you're a bottom? So you must be bad at math." Or even, "Oh, you're a bottom? So you must be lean and feminine-coded."

Or the accusations of catfishing because, if you have boundaries, that means you must logically be a "dom".

These are all things that I've been told at least once by someone over the years while being rejected from other queer folks.

I need people to understand that stuff like this will keep happening, for two reasons:

1. To be useful these chatbots need to have full access to everything they are supposed to "manage"; otherwise they are pointless.

2. Trying to stop prompt injection is basically trying to semantically filter natural language.

These tools have no model of the world, no ontology to anchor any "safety instructions" in. There will always be a way to talk one's way around them.

they believe nothing. they have not the capacity for belief.

they do not understand truth and false on any level that would matter to a non-mathematician, and even that they manage to do poorly despite decades of mostly successful usage of the concepts of true and false in computer programming.

not believing known false statements is something you would expect from an intelligence with understanding. large language models understand exactly one thing: how to model language that looks like language it has been shown. that’s all. just that. attributing it with any other understanding whatsoever demonstrates a lack of understanding on your part.

you see, i've thought for some time that microsoft would be the one to end the AI bubble. they are the ones who have the most chance of turning into a profitable thing. and they really can't, not even remotely.

so microsoft, who were basically the last offering a useful 'unlimited' plan couldn't even keep pretending to make it work. i think this will bring everything else down. for a start, those platforms cannot absorb this number of users while they're making a loss on every token. anyone else anyone flees to will have to raise prices too.

and anthropic just filed for IPO. today of all days. i think microsoft is going to tank anthropic's IPO. but is it intentional, hoping to pick up anthropic for a song?

i think they'd have stiff competition, but they might think they could get away with it.
