@byorgey I just wanted you to know that I read http://ozark.hendrix.edu/~yorgey/forest/00FD/index.xml out loud to my students today at the end of the last day of my PL course, and several of them told me that it spoke to them. Thank you (again) for putting it into words.

Is there anyone out there who actually buys meals at Dairy Queen?

Listen, I work for a fast food company, you can talk straight with me.

But like- if you’re gonna buy fast food. Dairy Queen?

Maybe it’s actually good? Maybe there are folks where it’s their closest option?? Legit curious.

I burst into tears seeing this. Sesame Street is locked behind a paywall with HBO and Fred Rogers Productions went "NOPE" and made sure that the magic and compassion that Mr. Rogers taught is available to everyone, no matter your financial status. They're making sure underserved kids have access to education, and VERY important emotional education at that. (Also, "They release sesame street a week later" that is STILL treating kids of poorer economic groups as a separate and lesser class, think for 5 seconds, ffs)

Also, please remember that Mr. Rogers started saying he was feeding the fish because a little girl who was blind was worried he was forgetting. He made his show accessible before that was even an inkling of a thought in so many entertainers' heads.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to embrace P2P technology in the browser instead of forever being locked into the client server model. In other words, incorporate support for network stacks that provide robust P2P with the browser having a server so multiple peer browsers can communicate directly. 🤔

Cyniam doing the side bend. She's in her workout outfit, her hair is dyed navy blue, she wears red sweatbands on both her head and her wrists, a cyan sport bras with wavy pattern, a dark blue sport jeans with a zig-zag pattern. There is a Sweat It brand on the red headband, sport bra and the sport jeans. Cyniam's stomach is revealed, her abs are barely visible unlike Acroria, suggesting that she's not as strong as her friendly rival. She is visibly sweating and there are zig-zag evocation on her arms and hip indicating the strain. Despite the strain, Cyniam smiles playfully at the viewer.

The best resources to learn Blender from are still the Blender manual, but that's a bit dry as most manuals are and videos are often better, and so for the rest the Blender Studio folks. Plus, you're supporting free culture works in the process! https://studio.blender.org/ has some resources free, and you can pay to get access to the rest, but they're all under CC BY, which is pretty great.

The second best are tons of shy and excited people on YouTube who want to show you a few tips.

Some of my favorites:

- Harry Blends
- Sophie Jantak
- Deduze
- Pepe School Land, especially the Grease Pencil Random Tips and Tricks series (name is unrelated to the popularity of a certain frog)

Getting started with Grease Pencil first is often a good idea, because 2d is a gentler introduction for many people, but it also eases you into many of the 3d concepts.

When folks like me bang on about how cynically irresponsible Apple has been about privacy in order to keep big app makers happy, this is what we're on about.

What can you do? Move your computing to the browser:
