More seriously, I think many people oversell the concept of the "small web". I pulled up the Kagi Small Web category for "health". In the first ~10 results, four pages were obviously AI slop (examples attached).
I run a small blog. Officially, I'm avant-garde / nerd counterculture. But secretly, *of course* I'm envious of big-time influencers who "made it". If you give small-time bloggers a "cheat" button, many will be tempted to push it for reach.

Most voters have no idea any of this is happening. These PACs run ads about jobs and immigration — never mentioning crypto or AI. 73% of voters disapprove of officials having crypto business ties, but 55% didn't even know Trump is personally involved in the industry (per CoinDesk).
But when voters do find out, the spending can backfire. In Illinois, candidates who called out the crypto money against them won their primaries despite being vastly outspent. Transparency is the only counter to this.

I put out a video that was critical of AI without AI being mentioned in title, thumbnail, or description. And it was dogpiled with pro-AI comments almost instantly.
This video has almost 2.5X as many comments per view as my most recent "controversial" video, and 4.5 the average.
I don't want to say that AI bots are being used to astrorturf videos after scraping scripts, but I have a hard time believing this is real based on experience.

You know some things that would make people healthier?
- Access to healthcare (without financial strain)
- Not being overworked & overstressed
- Experiencing fulfillment in one's labor
- Access to better food
- Feeling worthy of care & loving oneself
- Experiencing love & acceptanceYou want people to be healthy? That's what people fucking need, not shame, derision, "helpful advice", or being denied life-saving healthcare until they lose weight.

Ai executives must simultaneously explain two contradictory things to the public:
1. AI will soon be omnipotent and able to do all jobs
2. Despite this, it will somehow NOT make a meaningful amount of humans unemployed.Only one of these two things can be true at the same time. If #1 is false, their investment thesis is wrong and they are wasting money. If #2 is false, the economy collapses and you get a revolution.

What do dark mode fans think of duochrome apps? That is apps that might, for example, have the main view in the system default mode (say, light) but elements that need contrast with the main view are in the other mode (say, dark).
This is a very effective way of separating two parts of an app visually but challenges the modality of dark vs light.
Though, since dark mode is an accessibility aid, I suppose the right thing to do would be to keep dark mode entirely dark and light mode duochrome?
