Does this knife style have a particular name?

It was bought for me in 1983 from the Wangaratta Co-op store when I was about to move to Bundoora and start uni. The knife is branded Stern and was "Designed in Germany", whatever that means.

A kitchen knife on a table with a tape measure extended from the tip. The tape measure reads approx 10 inches/26cm where the blade connects to the handle.

Unless you were largely cognisant during the late 90s, it's very hard to get across to you just _how_ bristling with positive energy computing was back then, just **look** at this opening screen, it screams "ARE YOU READY TO LEARN MOTHERF*CKER?!".

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that most big tech companies underreport how much water their data centers use.

They often disclose water used for cooling but omit what the power plants supplying them consume.

Meta is rare in counting both; 19B gallons in 2024 was 20x its direct use.

this is a real thing https://dictionaryblog.cambridge.org/2012/01/30/gender-benders/

> Girl itself evolved in much the same way. The word originally referred to a child of either sex. Back then, prior to the sixteenth century, girls generally were divided into knave girls, which were boys, and gay girls, which were female girls.

EDIT: I added context, because it may have sounded like I was joking originally. It really is a really thing. boys used to be knave girls and girls used to be gay girls

I did forget one tiny final step after last night’s social.lol migration, which is rebuilding home feeds. You may not have noticed, depending on how many people you follow and how much you stay on top of your home feed. In any case, I've kicked off the job that rebuilds those now, and your social.lol home feed will be back to normal within an hour or so.

Also, we just passed 11 hours of uptime on the new server (omg.lol’s first ever dedicated box, btw!) and everything has been rock solid!
