this is Cocha Antshrike male, a rare endemic found in wet lowland forest (when he is found at all) that i photo'd from the canoe = fast shutter speed & moving bird (he was singing & hopping) = ISO 25,600

this antbird has a stark black male while the female has more colorful chestnut or cinnamon paired with her black "hood"

I had a go this weekend at simply using in-camera processing for my photos because the Linux-based photo tools are kinda garbage. But the in-camera tools aren't fantastic either, so even minimal editing in CaptureOne on top of the built-in Fujifilm tone curves really can make a big difference. #photos #nature #iceland

Today's was the carat substitution in bash. It probably works in other shells too but IDK, I'm too old to learn a new shell.

The way it works is fairly similar to the / in sed or similar. You can use them to run the previous command but with a string substitution.

For example, let's say I entered this command:

dig A cascadiacrow.org

When it fails to resolve, I realize it was a .com domain. Rather than retyping the command, or hitting the up arrow to change the previous command, you could do this:

^org^com^

And it would run:

dig A cascadiacrow.com

Kind of cool with those one liners you spend way too much time on and find a typo.

Anyway, I used it and someone thought it was magic so if it's new to you too, happy Monday.

I have looked and looked and my brain is basically boiling, and I still haven't found a solution online.

Let's say I have a .txt file that is in my Resources folder and I want to be able to read or write it at runtime and for it to persist after the program is closed.

How do I go about doing this?

Also, how do I convert a txt file to a string? I can't believe it, but I can't seem to find a way to do it.

EDIT: or alternatively, just a String variable in one of the game objects that persists after the program is closed. That's fine too.
