This is useful for explaining why supporting JK Rowling and her works is shitty, and why some of us stay in the U.S. Why go through the trouble of moving when so many other countries are getting as bad or worse? Might as well stay and fight, since I'll have to fight anywhere I flee.

To protect your sanity when making art as a hobby, it's often a good idea to consider what aspect of art you're actually excited about and focus on that rather than feeling compelled to each some arbitrary standard of completeness.
Like, when it comes to fantasy writing it's not uncommon to find people who REALLY enjoy making fantasy languages, or nerding out about some other niche aspect of worldbuilding and who are seemingly writing a fantasy novel/RPG campaign just to have an excuse to worldbuild and they'd probably be happier if they just like... made their language without feeling the need to connect it to anything else.
Now, if you wanna make art to get money or attention, you often have to deal with the fact that people only seem to care about some things in certain context, like how if you wanna make interactive fiction you often have to create an entirely superfluous environment for the main character to run around in so you can sell it as a video game cus no one pays 40 dollars for a piece of hypertext fiction even if there's easily more writing than 40 dollars worth of novels in there.

maybe it will be a Coworking Stream, as I have put a fair amount of effort into updating my _worst_ computer program, https://github.com/glyph/OmniFocusStreamCounter, to minimize round trips through Apple Events, since it takes like five hundred goddamn milliseconds to process every RPC. on the plus side it computes the complete percentage must faster now. the downside is that it gets the wrong answer
