Companies make record profits but do mass layoffs anyway because the stock value, which is how executives really get paid, is more important, and the market reflexively rewards layoffs.

Eventually, the company can't function anymore. But then it just gets sold off and the executives walk away with a golden parachute.

Life goes on for everyone except the ordinary people who used to work there or depended on their product.

A really good reminder that, especially in the US, our lives aren't representative of everyone's, and getting out, talking to people, experiencing things and having empathy are not only educational, but a good time.

A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, we watch as very shoddily drawn sketchy Green fox slowly comes together, becoming progressively more recognisable. Shoddy, sketchy Green fox stares in deep confusion as the ambiguous shape of Blue asks him an incomprehensible question. Blue: [unintelligible words]? Green: What? Becoming clearer, Blue looks at Green, who is still thrown off, but now looks almost completely like himself. Blue: I asked if you just woke up. Green: Oh. No, not yet.

My last post showed you the worst part of receiving comments as an artist. Thank you so much for your supportive comments, I'm alright.

Today I want to counterbalance and show you the best part. Look at this :blobcatheart: .

Photo of a letter, wrote with pencil, by a young person who visibly put a lot of effort writing each letter, often erasing to redo. The part obfuscated by me (pixelated blur) will be replaced by XXX on this transcript: Dear David Revoy, Hello my name is Sophia. I am in the 5th grade at XXXX, and I am a member of the comics clubs. We love to read your books, and I love your book, and I love reading your books, even though I just read your book, and I feel in love with your book. When I read your book. Love, Sophia.

@hagen TikTok did unionize (worker’s council) in Germany in 2022 and it was met with heavy resistance internally (company sued). I think being in an union is still seen as something for blue collar workers so tech leads, managers and most tech personnel see themselves as above that. It’s incredibly hard to get people in tech and gaming to join their union (I tried) and I believe it’s a mix of ignorance, knowledge gaps, and arrogance.

We don’t really have a “far-left” in this country as compared to the rest of the world.

But, if the choice for you between prison camps without due process for hated minorities and universal access to healthcare in the USA is a difficult one, then you already side with the far-right in your moral bankruptcy.
