And to be clear, this is something I'm saying when what people are asking me to solve is just an entirely ridiculous and ineffective use of time, like "why would you sit with a patient and help them describe their symptoms better if you haven't solved the fact that physicians are all burnt out and overworked"

Because multiple things can have value and I don't always choose what I do based on your most cognitively accessible stereotyped concern

"AI adoption raises homework scores by 18% and reduces completion time by 30%, but lowers monthly exam scores by 20% within six months. High-stakes entrance-exam scores fall by 18 and 24%, with the full penalty emerging only after about two years. The losses are largest in social science subjects, followed by STEM and languages, and are especially large for junior students, high-achieving students, and boys." 2/3

🚀 I made a smol ~2kb syntax highlighter that uses the CSS `::highlight()` API.

- About 2 KiB compressed
- No runtime dependencies
- Uses `::highlight()` not ``
- Languages loaded on-demand
- Human readable CSS themes + light-dark()
- Editable code block support
- And a custom element for more features!

Memo to certain humorless nerds: For fuck's sake, stop whining about Strange New Worlds pulling some wild-ass shit. For one thing, it's too late; they already filmed season five and after that they're out. For another thing, god forbid a science fiction television show shoots its shot and tries something strange, or new. Not everything SNW tries works for me, but that makes it no different than any other TV show, Star Trek franchise or otherwise, and I appreciate they're making an effort.

Huh. That's a first. Followed a link to an article where the text in the body of the HTML was scrambled. So you could click reader mode (to get past the paywall), but the text is garbage after the first couple of paragraphs. It looks like a trivial scrambling, but definitely defeats reading. Okay, you got me random newspaper I will never subscribe to, I *won't* read it.

Can anyone recommend a journalling app? Preferred: cross platform (though can be web, as long as it sends a notification to remind me to do it) as I prefer typing on my keyboard at my PC but have photos etc. on my iphone; reminders to journal; prompts of some kind (I am bad at thinking about what to write); maybe something like which book I'm reading, how I'm feeling, little tidbits like that (not sure if this is something these do). Info on weather? Anyway recs please!!

Cadence and timing matters for self-care! When you're an intellectualizer (which I suspect if you follow me you are), it's easy to want to chase the feeling of "productivity" even in recovery from events!
