BREAKING: After losing Florida’s Senate primary to Angie Nixon, Alex Vindman is putting his powerful fundraising network behind her campaign.

Nixon defeated him despite being outraised roughly 17 to 1. Now, instead of nursing wounds, Vindman is helping her take on Republican Sen. Ashley Moody.

The message he’s sending is no bitterness. No division. Country and party before ego.

@jonny I've been writing a little P2P tool called `sned` for quickly sending files between devices.

Just yesterday I added the ability to forward TCP connections through it via a local TCP port. (My idea was for a p2p ngrok alternative.)

So, you could start up a local server, have someone run `sned meet` to configure aliases for each other. Then `sned tcp-connect` them to a web server you're running locally.

i wonder if there's an nginx plugin for this that lets you make/revoke ephemeral share URLs. like i know i can just do this in 5 minutes with a python web server, but i also love just having a website that is just "files in a directory" where the web server part is basically invisible in the OS infra

Come on, local friends! Only 35% of our images from frequent image posters have alt text. That means 65% of our images from frequent image posters are leaving someone out. I want to believe that we can do better!

in a universe where everything is instantly scraped and consumed and tracked it is a quiet kind of freedom to be able to rent a domain and be able to put one-off pages on it that would only be findable by brute force enumeration of the domain. every web content system is built around not creating "orphan pages" like this, but if you are a human being online who just wants to show something to a few people, they're the best way i know how to. i feel like this would be made impossible if the web protocols were written today.

I don’t want to LLM my code for these kinds of reasons (and all the energy/stealing/tech bro dickhead ethical ones) but I’ll probably still have to “huff the vapourised lead” that everyone else is putting into the software ecosystem. 😕

A simple black and white single-panel comic. A salesperson wearing a necktie stands beside another person in a store showroom. In front of both people is a large black splotch; behind them is a large dense black cloud. The salesperson, gesturing toward the black splotch, says to the other person: "Sure, the abyss is great for staring into. But if screaming is your thing, you'll want to go with the void."
