A vertical collage of two photographs with text overlaid at the top. The text reads, "Mar-a-Lago Jeffrey Epstein's 50th birthday party" in green and white. The top image depicts Donald and Malania Trump, wearing a black tuxedo and bow tie and another wearing a white sleeveless top, standing in front of ornate gold-colored decor. The bottom image shows Epstein Maxwell and a group of their victims in a room with gold-framed wall art, with victims' faces and bodies obscured by black rectangles. Epstein is in the center of the bottom image and is wearing a light blue denim jacket and light-colored pants.

After I got the "right answer", I asked myself the question that I ask all AI boosters when they say that it worked, which is "'worked' compared to what?". And I realize that the pre-AI tools for finding solutions via human connection have all decayed as a result of the funding pumped into the AI versions. Case in point being Stack Overflow; SO has degraded so much that it didn't even *occur* to me to post my question there.

I ask Claude and ChatGPT a question every month or so in order to keep my impressions of their performance grounded. In general they've been consistently disappointing. Yesterday I had a question that traditional search completely failed at, and I had this kind of experience <https://taggart-tech.com/reckoning/> where Claude knocked it out of the park, which (while my proximal problem is now solved) mostly just gives me a sinking feeling.

Go make something. Flex the creativity.

Night Sky over the City
Gouache on cotton paper

Someone suggested that I paint a landscape with that crazy color triad I tried out in my last color wheel, the one with fluorescent pink, vivid teal, and muted yellow. So here it is! Now, one of the colors I used is opera pink, which contains fluorescent dye, and fluorescent paints are ALWAYS fugitive, which means they will fade over time with exposure to light. So I mixed in some better lightfast magenta with the pink, so that when the fluorescence fades, the pink will still remain. All the rest of these colors aren’t going anywhere.

Landscape painting with houses, trees, flowers, and a sky full of a river of cascading stars. Two brown cats peek from behind bushes. The colors are vivid, and the style is cartoonish and whimsical.
