No you aren't. Nobody in the payment business is a global service. It's literally impossible to provide a global payments service without enabling fraud, money laundering, or terrorism. Some legal environments simply don't work practically with other laws. Some countries are too small. Just publish a fucking list of countries you support.

Tomorrow's episode is an interview with climate researcher Ketan Joshi, who makes a pretty good case for the AI bubble as being a fossil fuel promotion.

The interview episodes are *ridiculously* popular - and offering previews to paying supporters is getting the $$ in. Hard part: finding interviewees who aren't the usual selection of white blokes. I'm consciously trying to get more women on, to chat in a convivial atmosphere of hating the chatbot. Probably no interviewee next week, got one for the week after. Suggestions welcomed.

Tonight’s partial eclipse was obscured by the forest near my vacation place in Idaho when it reached its maximum, at 96% coverage. Still, I was able to get a few photos of it with Earth’s shadow receding, as Luna eventually cleared the trees. I’ll share those soon, but for now here’s my first two shots near peak eclipse. And now to bed.

I am not good at spotting LLM-generated output. The last time I was on a grant review, there were a bunch of proposals that I dig into and they didn’t seem to make sense. When we came to discuss them, the other reviewers said ‘I think this is AI’, ‘I thought so too’, ‘okay, skip this one’. There were a lot of similarities between the ones that got flagged like this because they all included the grant call in the prompt and so tied things into it in the same weird nonsensical ways.
