I randomly stumbled on one of my old twitter posts where I marveled at one of the most clownshoes technical advertisements ever published: the Atari Jaguar's marketing materials claimed "an incredible 850 million pixels per inch rendering speed."
Read that again if your brain glossed over it.
I googled this quote to get a better image to make a new post about it. And Google's AI helpfully popped up to "inform" me that this is a "humorous misquote" and obviously the original said "850 million pixels per second."
No it didn't. That's a lie. Google is fucking gaslighting me. It clearly says "inch" right there in the scan of the marketing materials on archive dot org. My old post about it far predates this higher-quality scan, so I saw it in a completely different scan.
This post is taking a stand. A stand that Atari's marketing team, burdened with trying to pitch a horrible product, made a stupid typo 31 years ago and it's funny because it's REAL, dammit. The AI apocalypse can't take that from us.

After that, I'll probably cut an alpha release, move onto initial "Issues" implementation, & flesh out the remaining activities for both Merge Requests + Issues

Back in June, I gave a keynote at the “Identiverse” conference about app and website authentication with a focus on passkeys. The talk touched on values, useful developments and tips for websites and apps, and an interesting story about open, standards-based collaboration. It borrows some from my earlier talk at FIDO’s Authenticate conference, but it’s tighter and more fun. If you’re interested in what I’ve been up to, give it a watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVadD-Lfrfk

Do you get to unilaterally tell your boss your "terms of service" have changed?

After white supremacist Stefan Molyneux was banned from YouTube in 2020, he moved to the extremely right video platform Rumble.
Rumble is the "YouTube for Nazis". The company behind it, the Rum Group, is aligned with Trump.
And now Anthropic made a nearly 14 billion USD deal with them.
Perplexity similarly made a deal with Trump's "Truth" Social.
Every "AI" company is directly collaborating with Nazis. And every employer in my industry is changing their entire business model to become "AI-first" while you have to argue with clueless, ignorant centrists about the alleged usefulness of "AI". It's so fucking tiring.
You cannot use LLMs without empowering Nazis. It's obvious that the CEOs of said employers don't care, but it would be great if at least the workers didn't brush this fact aside.

It raises great questions like:
* What is programming?
* What is the goal of programming?
* What are the things we should value as programmers?And then it includes a bit about how feminism has some answers and an interesting perspective on why AI just feels icky to some of us
