Hey local beach.city folks! the domain beach.city is *expensive* When I first got it it was maybe $300/year. Now it's over $500/year, and as you can imagine, thats expensive to maintain. I'm already paid up through the end of this year, up until September, 2027. But I'm thinking of changing domains to a cheaper domain next August. That unfortunately means a server change if I do it, but I'd leave both up for a while to do a change.
Anyways... Any ideas for a newer, cheaper name? DM me!

@glyph I get what you're saying. But I'm not advocating AI detection. I'm saying you have a moral right to reject anything that's hard for you to process. Like, I don't care about em-dashes, but if the PR starts with several paragraphs explaining to you the paradigm of asynchronous programming you have a right (I believe) to either tersely ask to reword the description to the actual meaning of the PR, or — equally — decide that you don't even want to bother.
Mastodon Feed@isagalaev so like, for example, let's say that somebody who is exposed to a ton of slop at work and is losing their mind notices that Twisted has a hard ban, and is like, oh thank goodness, this is a project I can have a little bit of a creative outlet on. they show up, write a PR by hand, and write a nice long descriptive description and issue. that work slop exposure leads them to use a bunch of emdashes and bulleted lists. I reject their PR by saying "slop. get rekt.". That is a big failure.

on the one hand I don't want to get overconfident in my ability to detect LLM output when there's plenty of evidence that this is very hard and one can easily get lazy and start deciding stuff is AI when it isn't. on the other hand I don't want to reject people, I want to reject methods

@glyph agree. But then again, as a maintainer, why make it your problem and not theirs? If you put it like "I can't accept code you don't understand" instead of "I randomly reject your code editing technology", it should be pretty clear. This is why I think most of them actually should know/suspect why their PRs might be rejected.
